Funny - history going in circles. Following the 1967 Six Day War, Romania received from Israel some of the Soviet-made tanks abandoned in the Sinai by the Egyptian Army. As an awkward member of the Warsaw Pact, Romania was not supplied with tanks by the Soviet Union.
Some broken AKs and pipe bombs for appearances sake? Not exactly F16s. Hopefully itβs a sign of a change though & maybe theyβll stop trading RF diamonds etc next?
BS. Israel has delivered NO weapons to Ukraine since they blocked the US sending OUR OWN Iron Dome. They said this about Syria and blew those weapons up. Send me the proof that they've done it. I still remember Israeli propaganda saying Mossad would free Mariupol.
If I'm not mistaken, Israel has remained friendly with Putain and hasn't sent a single weapon or piece of ammo to Ukraine, or much else to help. So if this is true, it's truly groundbreaking. Maybe Russia leaving Syria made it possible?
I'll only believe it once these weapons are delivered.
Around 1.3 million Israelis or 15% of the population are Russian speakers. A lot came from old Soviet bloc nations, not just Russia. Point being Netanyahu has always cozied up to Putin because he needs those Russian speakers votes. Also Israel wanted Assad in power in Syria, not a power vacuum.
I think a big factor in the change of their "friendship" status is also the fact Assad lost control of Syria. During the past decade Israel has been more concerned about jihadists gaining power in Syria and backed what Russia/Assas were doing. Now that need to work with Putin is gone.
And yet Israel's still "neutral" meaning siding with Russia, not doing sanctions, meaning taking that sweet Russian oligarch money, and not sending weapons or those retired Patriots they're sitting on to Ukraine.
That was 2019, I'd say things have changed in the past 1 1/2 years due to Russian ties with Iran/Hamas/Hezbollah. Israel has found loads of Russian weapons in Lebanon in past months, many recently manufactured. Transferring them to Ukraine will make Putin less likely to arm Hezbollah in the future.

Targeting Israeli-Russian voters, Likud hangs massive picture of PM alongside Russian president, with the slogan βNetanyahu: In a league of his ownββ - https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-another-league-netanyahu-touts-friendship-with-putin-in-new-billboard/
