Since visiting Iceland I’ve become a bit obsessed by their volcanoes. One of the local volcano nerds I follow said that this fissure just opened in the last day or so. You timed your visit perfectly.

We were there a week or so ago. The lava from the last eruption was still steaming at the side of the road. It was as black as black. Lucky to have gotten to the Blue Lagoon. Must be terrifying to be evacuated from homes.
