Monster Hunter Wilds first impressions/opinions (from a new MH player)
THE BAD-ish (getting used to):
- People claiming controller is infinitely objectively better are wrong
- Auto run forced for mounts is obnoxious
- Having to toggle a mode to have my character look where I'm looking is stupid

Comments
- Hate voice pitching sounding so distorted and robotic if you don't use default, hire more VA's
- 14 Weapon types but MOST feel heavy, slow, and clunky/awkward
- Forced base camp "lobbies" of people crowding EVERYTHING
- Hard to hide lobby chat
- Mouth movements set for Japanese voice lines has characters looking like animatronics
- Weapon "sharpness" and needing to sharpen MID FIGHT
- Wounds, targeting wounds, and special wound strikes are extremely satisfying
- Characters have some depth out the gate
- The world is beautiful, fleshed out, and immersive
- Character Creator was wildly in depth
- The weapon styles are easily swapped to test
- Loot & Money are plentiful
- Repurposing monster loot into weapons & armor is sick
- Little feline dude has a mustache and I would die for him
- Story starts HOT
- No stats/skill tree, all gear/skill based
- SQUADS
- Monsters have unique mechanics
I am having fun. I am only 3-4 hours in. I am going to keep playing. But as a new player this game is ROUGH to adjust to.
