B5 changed storytelling for me. All the rules blew up with Earthforce One. I think of that scene, and how my wife and I reacted to it, maybe once a week. Dragged out of Plato's cave, kicking and screaming.

For a while I could only have 2 characters in a scene talking in my head while writing. Adding a 3rd made them all shut up and I'd have to write all their dialogue. Critics in my head kept talking the whole time. Finally, I said to one critic, "Can you voice character #3 for me?" and they did.

I had just re-read MLK's "Letter From a Birmingham Jail" when I came across this post. It wasn't too hard to imagine the writings of G'Kar touching on many of the same points and feeling a similar anguish in the struggle to free Narn and the Book of G'Kar.
