House Republicans voted to block the release of the Matt Gaetz ethics report, which investigated allegations including sex with a minor. Where were the missing Democrats? 🤨

I don't know, but every single Democrat who was (compared to only 1 Republican) voted to release it, so I'm not about to go blaming them for imperfect attendance.
Yes, and it's all of their job to do right by the American people. All I'm saying is that I'm more upset by 200 GOP House members being partisan hacks, than 6 Democrats not being there to vote.
No sadly, it's not. Still disappointing. I keep holding out hope that somewhere deep down they all have a spine they miss, and may want to reconnect with at some point. On this topic, knowing what was investigated, I think the vote result confirms what we all know. And his main gig is Cameo now.
It would be a real shame if someone accidentally left some printed copies of the report laying around the Capitol were so members of the press might find them.
Really hope someone doesn't do that. 😉
This is infuriating. Did the Repubs schedule this vote when they knew a bunch of Dems weren't going to be there? Was some kind of deal made? Who were the missing Dems?
I believe a bipartisan committee of equal numbers from both parties was formed. It was a tie which defaults to doing nothing at all. Doing nothing isn’t inherently unethical but in this case it is.
Sadly, it’s the good old boys protecting each other by making deals in the dark of a closet. Too much privilege is given to our elected representatives.
SMDH.
