You can tell the 6 parts were made at different times, the style noticeably changes as the series progresses. For me parts 4 (bar the unnecessary SA scene) & 6 were the best, they had a bit of visual flair to them and decent stories. Part 3 was the weakest, with some really shoddy art and animation - ThreadSky

Also i have never seen a series with more random unexplained nudity - fighting a one-one duel? Off come the pants. Infiltrating an enemy stronghold? Surely you'd be much less conspicuous in the nud. Officiating a wedding? Who needs those heavy robes?

Week 7 - Ushio and Tora

Think I may have seen an episode of this on VHS back in the day, and picked up the DVD on import so I can watch the rest. Never got round to it and can't remember the episode I saw, hopefully that's not a bad omen

That was a bit of a mixed bag, proper old school shonen with shades of Yu Yu Hakusho and Inu-Yasha but no real over-arching story. The characters were decent if a bit archetypal and the monster designs were pretty good, but it was weirdly gory at times which made its target audience hard to pin down

The series got better around the midpoint with the last six episodes being a series of two-parters which gave the story more space to breathe. There's also a random extra episode with chibi versions of the characters getting into hijinks and doing songs
