I recall that started with the NES Kirby’s Adventure. DeDeDe was a surprise in the GB game but not wild.
Then you get to the end of adventure and beat him again… surprise! He was keeping the embodiment of evil, suffering, and bad dreams at bay and you released it. Better go save the world!
