I love the cast and creators but it looks like it'd be... basic. Why are multicam sitcoms so slow these days? The joke rate of the 90s just plummeted.

That’s what gets me - it feels like such a waste of talent.

I think, to me, those sitcoms just don’t work anymore. To me it comes across as people just saying stuff with a laugh track after it. I find that with all sitcoms I’ve tried to watch in this format over the last 10-15 years or so.

Makes you realise what great casting and what talent Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally were, and what fantastic writers they had in the early seasons. Eric and Sean's behind the scenes rewatch podcast is great.

It was, but again, when it came back it came across as a bit stale to me. As I say, I think we’ve moved on from that style.

But the audience haven't - I'm rewatching early Will & Grace with my boyfriend who's never seen it, and it's just as good as it was then. It's like people have forgotten how to write and make that kind of show, or are doing it for the wrong reasons - nostalgia rather than originality.

I mean, I can only comment on my perspective. I still enjoy watching Golden Girls, but I think I give it grace because I can switch to knowing it’s from a certain time.

It’s just doing it now seems bland and unimaginative.
