Sadly in Edinburgh's case it's the local newspaper editor who's the headbanger and has the ear of the local council. He was once caught out when his comment about 'find a photo of a dumb cyclist' was accidentally left in as the caption about how a temporary bike lane was 'destroying businesses'. 🙃

We're all in situations sometimes where people either don't know that we use a bike occasionally, or don't care, and the 'bloody cyclists/wastes of money' tropes are pretty common.

I don't like to be in the midst of a fight, but we have to be aware of those attitudes, not put our heads in the sand.

Anyway, The GB Tour stage was a huge thing locally a few years back, the TdF will be great for Wales, tourism is still struggling.
