I've almost entirely stopped participating in those conversations because at this point people are repeating things out of willful ignorance, it's not worth my time or skyrocketing blood pressure. 🤬
It absolutely was. I've got a bit of a mental list of commentators I won't pay attention to anymore, figuring that if they're choosing to stay ignorant about LEC their opinions about other drivers' skills may be just as stupid.
even those were so minor in the grand scheme of things, he only lost one place both times. saying he’s error prone to things like France is just false at this point in his career. it’s blatant stupidity
Exactly. The best drivers of all time have had those kinds of crashes. Schumacher tried to take out Villeneuve at Jerez 97 and had a horrific crash at Silverstone 99. Hamilton and Vettel both had bad crashes at Hockenheim, as examples. Verstappen clipping Hamilton out of sheer frustration at Hungary
There's no driver that hasn't had a driver error crash at some point in their career, and yet Leclerc gets France 22 held against him all the time. It's ludicrous.

To confirm - it was Kieran Jackson who wrote this nonsense. Also trying to stir it between Leclerc and Hamilton.
Monza 2024. That single-handedly killed that entire narrative in one race.
Vegas 2023 he had a lock-up that cost him a place to Perez - and he recovered that place with a phenomenal divebomb at the end, too.
It's a dead narrative.
