1 cut clay w string or wire
2 make lil guys or whatever
3 if they're bigger than your hand then make them hollow
4 leave a small hole for ventilation
5 don't leave any parts too solid or too thin
6 skinny guys might need wire armature
a peice of advice is to not water down the glaze and apply a lot. also they wont blow up if they have completely dried out. im not an expert ive only made three pottery thngs in my whole life though
I’ve thought of a way to make my own molds that may or may not work. Might just use them for regular cement garden guys so I don’t burn my workshop down.🤔
Lots of things I wanna try real bad.
Same dude! Been wanting to get into it for ages, I've even been chatting to a pottery artist to get some advice. It's a tricky one to get into though for sure! Tried saving for a kiln but blew it all on house repairs, tempted to try air-dry. I hope you figure it out ☺️
There’s a community college near where I’ll live that has classes so I’ll see if they’ll let me throw them money for one single semester of a pottery class. 🤔
That's a good idea! Are you from the UK? My friend suggested a few groups that do kiln shares but they're all too far from where I live, I could try find out for you if you are though
Ah, I can't help you out there sorry buddy. The classes sound like a plan though! I wanted to make some masks myself, think the kiln plan is out the window and I heard air-dry isn't great for bigger stuff but I did get recommended one recently that is good apparently so I may try check it out soon
