This has already been dissected but: If a nationwide 20-week abortion ban was favored by a majority of voters, would Favreau advocate that Dems accept it as necessary to win? Or is this thinking only about trans and undocumented people? (Mentioned in quoted NYT piece)

Feels a lot like where gay marriage was in 2004. Messaging on this does need to change, and I think advocacy groups will probably play a bigger role than the Democratic Party, who constantly try to avoid “culture war” topics even when they can win

I am painting too broad a brush--I think Walz and Beshear actually showed them how to do this, for instance, and plenty of red state Dems have experience here. National Dems just didn't listen.
