Also, how is "leave trans people alone and let them live their lives as they have for decades" not the "moderate" position here? Whenever people call for "moderating" on trans issues, they're calling for actively oppressing trans people, actively restricting trans lives.

But even this is discriminatory. Part of why HRT medications exist (including puberty blockers) is that they are widely used by cis people to conform with their binary gender assigned at birth that they prefer.

When I was younger I remember being on the Smogon Pokemon forums and reading someone argue that a ban on gay marriage wasn’t discriminatory because both straight and gay people alike were forbidden from marrying someone of the same gender.
