I work at a consumer electronics company that sells portable dishwashing machines for people in small apartments, and those do actually have glass doors to watch the action.
I've been tempted.
Nobody has posited the explanation that occurred to me a long time ago: because it looks a mess for most of the cycle. Most of the swishing and swoshing must be with filthy water. Just a final bit of a rinse at the end. So I guess fastidious folk would be grossed out?
Thank you - that is great! I started using the pods in my dishwasher when I moved a couple of years ago. That then-new dishwasher was replaced two weeks ago, likely due to strange city water/pod combo. It is hard to find the liquid in stores here but there are rows and rows of the pods.
