A spokesperson said the govt is “working closely with the sector to make BNG work effectively to protect our natural world” and that it has introduced the new Nature Restoration Fund to "unblock the building of homes & infrastructure & improve outcomes for our nature”.

What a mess. Not even as though BNG as currently conceived delivers as required but to erode it AND scrap extant environmental safeguards for local wildlife is Truss like stupidity.
