Then I make a mock up scene with that sketch.
Next I spend the next 3 afternoons messing around with that scene and making like no progress.
Until one day I zone out and suddenly I have a finished piece!
Hope this was helpful!
Which usually involves rendering it 5 different ways with 10 different brushes until I force myself to stop and call it done.
I just gotta find a balance between the textured brush and everything else because I am DEFINITELY using it WAY too much.
I've also done a quick curly hair tutorial but I have been meaning to do more on it since there has been some interest
I have a list of things to do tutorials on, and willing to take suggestions or requests too
-slightly refined sketch that’s “good enough” to go on for now
-flats
-finalized sketch to guide rendering
-render
-lineart (unless not using lines, obvi)
-any final tweaks
probably not the most efficient, but i am impatient to get adding colors when an idea grabs me, lol
But its like
Pose sketch > flat > half render (to get a baseline and see what i can adjust) > full render
Sometimes i wont do a sketch and ill just start w flats and draw like that and block in things
i can only work in full steps haha
When you posted the flats my first thought was "Wow, she doesn't look right without her freckles"
Thank you!
Generally, since my stuff is mostly short and often monsterfucker-y fiction. But generally.
- Have concept and plan overall length
- Devise basic characters and setting.
- Write a few paragraphs to see if idea gels
- If it does... somehow finish it
