Probably an (unsubstantiated) hot take but I don’t think there exist far left people in the US who’d be willing to do real violence. My theory is that US culture is too individualistic and therefore the goal of stochastic violence would be predominantly satisfaction of personal grievance.
I also think leftist folks are far too obsessed with purity of morality to foment material change.
Real change would require them to personally sacrifice something or someone on the altar of progress. So, transformative violence has to come from the (abstract) state, not personal action.
