yeah this just be a foreign concept to me. as i played Demon's Souls and was getting hyped for Dark Souls release at that time.
meanwhile American TripleA just got less and less appealing. where the focus of gameplay went entirely away.

i dont remember bad mouth on Demons Souls specifically. word of mouth hyped up the game....
however, Dark Souls being multiplat resulted in the 'Artificial Difficulty' debates. many claiming Difficulty was inherently outdated and every game should just be a movie😂
i loved MGS4 despite half the game being cutscenes.... cus the cutscenes were all fun.
i wish that 'cinematic game' took from metal gear where the 'cinematic' aspect was just how theres cool movie cutscenes... rather than heavily scripted sequences.
Also yeah I hated Horizons UI tbh, but I didn't like Horizon in general. Didn't click with it.
