They will forget. They’ll blame it on liberals, somehow. My town, a small southern Oregon town, is deep red, with a high percentage dependent on Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP. Lots of homeless. Everything that goes wrong here is because of democrats, even though they haven’t had power in decades.

True, but also include poor seniors. We are similarly vulnerable. Delay, decrease or delete our Social Security - we can be evicted for not paying on time; take away our Medicaid, we lose all health care and monthly meds; decrease SNAP and we're back to eating cat food like they did in the 1960s.

Every benefit - medical and food - actually subsidizes corporations that refuse to pay living wages. No use telling us the employees aren't worth it. They were until Reagan gave permission to exploit them. People used to be self sufficient in small jobs. Now they aren't. That was a CHOICE. Fix it.

I will point out that there are many families on Medicaid who don't even have the $16 discussed here. Think about a family with five or six kids. That's a hundred bucks a day they don't have, and a hundred bucks a day that a billionaire wouldn't even notice disappeared
