The only thing I’ve found AI to be useful for is if I have 7 pages of research for a project to ask it to summarize it for an email or PowerPoint.

Even then, I have to proofread every word of it.

yeah like, there are definitely niche uses and edge cases. but the smartest people still pushing it are going, “just play around with it, it’ll surprise you, i bet you’ll find a few uses for it” and that just can’t possibly justify any of the tradeoffs (including, for me, the time to play with it)

I work in construction management and we've looked into some of the AI software for reviewing reports, drawings, contracts and specs. For the most part, it's just been a couple of neat tools but nothing that really saves that much time yet.

yeah, there are some rote tasks that *should* be good for it, for sure—but for anything meaningful, you should still be double-checking results (and spot-checking false negatives)
