Yes, and previous president Niinistö had quite close relations with Putin as well, he was a link between russia and the west for a long time, before ruzzia went totally crazy again.

As we all know, those relations are completely gone, coz one part doesn't understand diplomatics or/and respect any agreements made. Too bad Trump seems to be playing on the wrong side, as he's the"link" in the between now. 🙄
