Dead serious:
Get garden seeds. Now. And starting this spring grow some of your own food. Greens, peppers, herbs, some root crops, squash, & cucumbers are fairly easy to grown. If nothing else grow some herbs. It will give you pleasure, both growing & enjoying them as you add them to your food.

Sometimes I'll use apple or cranberry in stuffing.
Sometimes I'll add a bit of dried fruit to a smoothie.
I can use dried fruit instead of fresh in anything that goes in the oven.
HTH!

And what do you expect us in cities who have no space to grow food anywhere to do?
Nothing can be grown in those conditions.
Not sure it’s cost effective, but if you just want fresh herbs you could get an Aerogarden. https://www.thespruce.com/best-indoor-garden-systems-6951092?utm_medium=con&displayPrice=no&utm_source=googlepaid&utm_medium=con&utm_content=CjwKCAiAkc28BhB0EiwAM001TQQEpUulTvHwXlyULS8TDtrWfR_y2zYhVZh6BWPK7BgsOfrRlozSpBoCK8EQAvD_BwE&utm_campaign=commerce-dd-IndoorGardens_TheSpruce_Combined_CommSEM_DSA&utm_term=aerogarden%20alternative&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACeazfCUksfnaB8_oH3qTHoxHWJRQ&gclid=CjwKCAiAkc28BhB0EiwAM001TQQEpUulTvHwXlyULS8TDtrWfR_y2zYhVZh6BWPK7BgsOfrRlozSpBoCK8EQAvD_BwE
I'm supposed to move in with friends this year, ideally. Maybe that can be when I start trying... But I've also always killed everything I've tried to grow.
This was an old rusty garden cart. I lined it with landscape cloth and filled it with square foot gardening mix. Herbs, chilis, lemon cucumber, and japanese eggplant.
I could roll it into full sun in the cooler days and hide it in the shade on really hot ones.
It’s the biggest difference between fresh & storebought.

I ripped up the bushes and planted turnips, radish, carrots and onions.
