The lights are on 24/7 and correctional officers will stomp and bang on doors to wake people. It's really just insane. Never mind a lack of bedding etc.

Being removed from society and locked up is the punishment. People in prison shouldn't be treated inhumane while in prison.

It's also a medical issue; it can shorten people's lifespans, made them sick, and exacerbate mental illness. Really awful.
