For now I'm writing a general-purpose string meta value block with options for tagname and all the various typography and dimension supports. I will also remove it from the inserter, so it's only used manually in templates and patterns.

One thing I'm doing that core isn't with block bindings is limiting the selectable meta keys to only those registered with a string type schema. Unfortunately there's no core endpoint for getting registered meta, so I have a custom one for that.
