UK EU trade is around 800bn export from UK to EU is 352.3 and imports 452.7 while US total trade is 304.3 bn with exports 188.2 bn to US and imports 116 bn

Longer term it's not Sir Keir who needs convincing. It's the population who voted for Brexit who need to be convinced that the US is going to screw them over while the EU would just drive a hard bargain. I hate to say it but some horrible examples might help make the argument.

We need to add trade with Norway, Switzerland and Iceland who are in the single market as well.

And with other 10 countries such as Ukraine who are aligning their rules to EU rules ahead of them joining the EU.

Memo back: You don't change minds by pointing that out. Trading with 27 different countries would require us to rejoin the free-trade area and we'd prob have to join #Schengen and even the #Euro. Let's start the debate, sure. But Britain chose to leave: we'd need to fix that issue first.

Your £356 Billion is just the exports!

Whilst your UK US figure is total trade (exports and imports)
