i'd like to give a shout out to rose of ultramarine (i swear i'm not getting paid by daniel smith, but i work at an art store and i stare at the daniel smith rack at least 4 hours a day and i am motivated to git gud at watercolors)
last one, lunar violet is a strong fav. i tried to emulate it for a watercolor sold at work and was mostly successful, with the addition of pearlescent mica powder and using mars black (i think lunar violet is more of an ivory black but i could be wrong)
When I was at art school in the early 1980's, I used to drive up to the Daniel Smith store from Ellensburg. I got to talk with Daniel Smith at least once. We always came bag with a lot of paper.
Ohhhh I love Daniel Smith watercolors. If only they weren't so expensive. I have a scant few and back when my art block wasn't blocking and I still did a ton of watercolors, I used them a lot.
Daniel Smith legit has some of the most gorgeous pigments and granulators π€π they are my fav for printmaking inks as well for similar reasons. Their colours are so rich
