The counter action is fact checking. The central problem is people assuming on face value what they read in the "news", etc, politicians words, etc, to be truthful or accurate.

Is he and that kid conjoined? What’s the deal with dragging him everywhere like a teddy bear or buffer from actual humans? And just listening to his babbling, I found it even less coherent than his kid’s. Genius he is not.
Right there is living proof showing how talent and cupidity can not only cohabit but reinforce each other. And on multiple levels:
Within one person (the guy in black),
in a group (the two co-presidents),
in a system (the mysterious black box containing the Heritage Foundation & Republican Party).
