That’s certainly what I thought in the 80s and 90s when I visited Dachau and the Holocaust Museum in DC. After 9/11 and the rise of RW propaganda, I started having second thoughts. We’ve been gradually heading this direction for a few decades.
I hope you're right about the former, but am sure you're right about the latter -- but that means we've still got forty to fifty million of those inbred racists to deal with...
There were always those in the background that fought it back, and fought it back so well no one knew it was always a danger. Instead of telling their stories over the years, it got buried for fear that talking about something gives it power. But it's in that darkness it grew. Time to shine a light.
