My father was prisoner in a hard labour camp during WWII. The conditions were brutal: thin rags, thin nourishment and punishing work. Only those with a strong will to live made it through. If not for his determination, I would not be here to write these words.

Unfortunately, corporate marketing $$billions, and the rhetoric of populists are driving us towards ever more consumption of resources and energy
