More interesting would be a fair taxation on huge fortunes. Yes, government need cuts but based on their useness to the country and society. And at the same time a system that taxes the richest people on this country, whom pay less than you or me to IRS.

It is a famous progressive talking point to say that the richest people in the USA pay less in taxes than you or me. Just absurd, but many people believe it. Thankfully, the rich do provide most of our country's tax revenue. Taxing them more could result in less revenue produced.

This is just heartbreaking. For NSF, for the scientists, but for America as a whole. NSF funded great science for over 70 years. It made our universities into amazing places to advance our understanding of the world. It's one of our Crown Jewels.
