Here’s a great review of the film https://slate.com/culture/2017/07/alan-j-pakulas-film-the-parallax-view-constructs-a-labyrinth-of-overlapping-conspiracies.html, which highlights how Pakula’s camera work on Beatty was intentional designed to convey a feeling of being “watched.”
It’s a remake of Michelangelo Antonioni's 1966 film Blow-Up (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060176/), which is itself another highly recommended classic of noir surveillance.
This movie’s opening sequences are among the most compelling in this oeuvre, although the film takes a weird turn in the second half...
But there is a lot of surveillance in the film too, and Frank Sinatra is just so damned compelling.
This film should be required viewing today: a supercomputer places everyone under surveillance and takes over the world.

The photo inserts alone are worth it!
re: "The Truman Show", the podcast _Offline with Jon Favreau_ did an interesting ep. on how the movie foreshadowed our current surveillance era.
