I beg everyone to PLEASE see The Day The Earth Blew Up Theaters. Yβknow how EXTREMELY RARE it is to get a new 2D animated film made in the US and have it play theatrical?? Go and support this one!! ππ

it did not disappoint! sadly tho the day one turnout at my cimena was abysmal, and it was stuck in a smaller auditorium in the back
i fear it might get replaced by the snow white remake next week
Why for? To give more money to the greedy CEOs who will use the money of a good movie we all want to see to continue to make shitty-ass decisions with their employees and making bad movies? No thanks
The Zazlav has proven time and time again that it doesnβt matter.
You should watch the movie if you wanna see it.
But zero expectations for Warner to do better.
Zazlav has proven that it dose matter though. Zazlav wants money, if he see something make money, he will have more of that thing made. That's how that works. That why we support things.
Saw it day one at my local theater. I think I was the only one at that showing, but I really hope it picks up from there. I'll admit its tone might be a hard sell, but it did what it set out to, and boy did it deliver on that. I highly recommend it for fans of wacky cartoons.
Possibly even rarer than a 2D animated film is the fact that they hired experienced voice actors and not cynically stunt-casted whatever celebrity with mediocre voice talent happens to be a halfway big name now.
Is there any way to help support this without seeing it in theaters? I can no longer go to movie theaters due to my sensory issues and the awful sound systems they have now. ):
That's what I'm planning to do cause I heard about this, I think about a year ago or two. I am so thankful I found a theater that is playing this movie where I live. I miss 2D animated movies, so I know this will be a treat.
If you are a fan of Don Bluth's work or animation in general, you should definitely watch this movie because long-time animator John Pomeroy worked on this and movies such as: The Secret of NIMH, The Land Before Time, An American Tail, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Treasure Planet, just to name a few.
I did not even know about this movie coming out!!! Oh my gosh, I wish I'd seen promos for it leading up to now. I'll definitely have to go see this, now!
I know it's a long shot but I hope it makes enough money that movie companies will have no choice but to acknowledge that there is a demand for more 2D animated movies (especially ones to play in theaters) and react accordingly.

Lookin' at you, 'Scoob!' (2020).
Even the big theater in London isnβt showing it
While be honest when I say the film didn't quite click for me, but I had a fun time nevertheless and was glad to be able to watch it in theaters.
