They’ve augmented local police for years. However there’s long been a seething interest of the wider state to get NOLA under control (with all that that means racially).

It’s really weird and disturbing how much of the ethos of this movement seems to be forcefully inserting itself into places where it’s either not been invited or, more often, has expressly been rejected and then casting the resulting resistance as aggression. Seems to really be their thing.

That seems to be the core uniting principle that links all their actions - you cannot say no to me. Once you see it, it’s hard to see it through any other lens and it really drives home the point of what a diseased, disturbed, and physically dangerous movement it represents.

Ukraine being a perfect example - Trump and his movement cast their rejection of Russian patronage not as the free autonomy of a sovereign nation but as an act of aggression in and of itself, blaming them for starting a war. It’s ludicrous, until you think of E. Jean Carroll. And then it clicks.
