Finished yesterday. I still don't like the protagonist, Oscar Wao. He's an obese nerd who wallows in his pathetic-ness, without a character arc that has any redemption. The better book within a book was his mother's story, set in a 40's - 60's Dominican Republic haunted by a brutal dictatorship.
