when landing in LA back then you could pass through a bright orange layer in the sky we called the "photo fog" - a layer of pollutants that were sun sensitive
He used to joke in the 70s and 80s that the school’s name had come to represent:
You see LA?
Nah, you see LA?
He did live long enough to see clean air.
He’d be sad to see we are going backwards, even though he was rather conservative.
We talked about how it was like the air we grew up with.
Even the GOP guy said, “Maybe some regulations are ok.”
One topic was how much easier it was to breathe in our new locations.
