With Duren - when he’s playing against good offensive players, he either overplays and gets in foul trouble or wilts. In these blowout games, that is the thing that sticks out. That, and Cade goes into mad scientist 1 on 3 mode and turns it over.

You cannot give up that many wide open shots in an NBA game and call yourself a competitive team. I don’t care if they went in or not. That’s a reflection of the entire culture, from management down to the players.

Even good teams get burned in the NBA from time to time, but they don’t quit.

I think at a player level we're seeing some positive strides. Cade has looked more the real deal to me this season and Ivey has shown the ability to coexist with him both of which are important shifts from what I felt at the end of last year. Do you really think we're in full reset territory?

I wouldn't say I'm only confident in those two, but even if it were only the two of them I certainly wouldn't say I'm confident we could get two similar talents by tearing it all down again

I’m not saying they need to trade Cade or Ivey. In fact, they couldn’t trade Cade this season even if they wanted to. I’m saying this team is not playing good basketball and changes need to be made.

This just looks to me like where they should have been last year or two years ago. Young guys trying to figure it out. Vets probably useful to move at the trade deadline. Issue is burning Cade's rookie contract from Weavers mismanagement. But the org seems headed in the right direction now at least

Happier with Langdon doing that than Weaver.

This is about the best I expected of the Pistons this year. Not good, but to me at least watchable >50% of the time. Better than when I just hate watched the last few years.

Weaver was a bad GM, but Langdon hasn’t actually done much of anything since he got here. He hasn’t given much reason to trust him.

He's not Troy Weaver is an incredibly strong start. And the Beasley, Hardaway, and Harris signings seem to be the kind of useful vets the young guys should be around. More hope than real trust at this point, but been awhile since hope was even reasonable

Hardaway has been a very negative influence. Worst +/- on the roster. Harris has been good but not with what he was paid. Beasley was a great signing, but you only have him for one season.

Where is the faith in Langdon deriving for you? The biggest difference this year imo is Bickerstaff over Monty, Langdons management has maybe been on par with Weaver so far but really all we're seeing is what Weavers core was capable of with average coaching and a touch of depth

The Beasley, Hardaway, and Harris signings, along with bringing in Bickerstaff.
Langdon might turn out to be mediocre to bad, way too early to say good or bad. But nothing so far screams bad decisions. Signed vets that theoretically would complement the young guys, didn't sign 5 centers. Baby steps

Agree Beasley was great, don't think I'd credit (or blame) him for Tobias, and think the THJ trade is an L until we see what happens with the picks. I agree it's too early to label Langdon but in the few areas where he has managed to make his mark (like the draft), I don't like the early returns

Yea, it is a tough schedule and we aren't the absolute worst team anymore..but legit we are not...JB is more structured than Monty but the players need to dramatically improve..patience?

They have ONE win against teams w/a winning record, 1-8. So they're 8-6 against teams currently @ or < .500.

They should've been here last year and building off it now.

So yes, in a vacuum, this roster & season is better. If folks think it's truly a competitive team as constructed ...
