For me its about environmental and health concerns. Until our practices improve, I want to contribute as little as possible. Plus I hava gut I dont want so much.
Ideally you could find a way to manufacture it. We can already culture hamburger meat. But you need to find a way to do it cheap and with minimal damage to the environment. Thats a long way off. And then there's still the health issue. We just eat too much meat and dairy.
Not sure it would have a direct effect π€ but I know that a lot of ppl in my surroundings are intolerant to gluten or even peas, beans or soya... So it's still possible to be vegan but very tricky in everyday life...
I'm definitely allergic to soy which compounds the issue for sure. Then again I'm also allergic to dairy and aside from rare circumstances I abstain from it or substitute. So in a way I'm dairy vegan. lol
It's possible for you to go vegan but as already said, your health definitely comes first. It's hard when you have a lot of unknown intolerance and allergies.
I myself am allergic to bananas, most nuts, most seed, and I'm intolerant to "retextured soy protein", garlic, onion, beans and much more
Hehe dully noted ! I'll try to do it before the end of the discount but I don't have my tablet with me though it will be DIY edition π(still on a proper software don't worry uwu)
I wish I had more vegan friends, I only have one and he lives in the other side of the country;-; everytime my friends hang out the plan they propose is eating at kfc & McDonald's π₯Ήπ I feel like a killjoy everytime because I refuse to go....
It's just that they are not used to someone vegan being there so it's easily forgotten. At the very end we up not going to those places, but it often feels like ur bothering when u change people's plans π₯² (even at times when ur friends are geniuine indifferent to it, it feels like ur bothering:c)
I want to someday get a version that says "Divest from Factory Farming" since I won't stop eating meat but I will stop eating it from inhumane sources that treat animals like shit.
Sadly even a "well and humane" raised animal goes to the same slaughterhouse than the others. Plus in our society it's quite impossible to eat only "humane" meat. How when you're at the restaurant etc. ?
There are actually some restaurants, mostly mom and pop places, that source from the local family farms that I would also be supporting, and I tend to prefer to support those local mom and pop shops above corporate restaurants, because not only is their quality better, but it helps my community.
And yes, I understand that eating factory farmed meat is sometimes unavoidable, I just choose to reduce that as much as in my capability to do so. Maybe if I end up winning a congressional election like I plan to run for, I can place regulations on how meat is farmed, but that'll have to wait for...
i still eat meat. myself but i do wish the methods of getting said meat would be held to a very high standard where the animals arent tortured before dying.
on the other hand. i am curious about vegan related foods and would love to try them.
do you have advices to turn to a fully vegan alimentation? I'm slowly reducing the amount of dairy i consume and i'm getting used to vegetal milk rather than animal one, but for the meat and such i'm at a bit of a loss.
I wholeheartedly support vegans, but coming from my experiences with coming from deep farming roots in podunk Minnesota, it must also be said to understand why folks do enjoy a good cut of meat from a well cared cow
PETA and such say we are monsters, but we well and truly cherish our friends
I also have some farmers (limousine cattle) in my family and welp... Even if I know they are persuaded to raise their cows the "good and humane way" ... I'm vegan though, not really a reason to me π
Its fair, they can scream at us for what we do, doesn't give them a right to dictate how we think it is best to do right by the creature and do the job right and give them the dignity that is owed toem
Thing about cattle is that, it is never a means to an end for folks that get their hands in on caring for herds, they know a happy cow gives very good meat, and its a sign they lived well, and we say grace when we enjoy what they gave us
