Of course resistance using fashion would emerge in France! A friend's grandma was a teen in Paris during WWII & told me about the super tall "Liberte' Turbans" (Hitler forgot turbans when decreeing the size of hats) & the wood soled shoes they wore to stomp noisily when they walked past Nazis.
