i paid close to double in paypal fees this year (like 1k π). i did have a lot more individual transactions, but its frustrating cause i sure didnt make more
Oh if so I didnβt know about it. I just basically replied with what Iβve heard ^^ Iβve not set up a commission thing yet for myself so Iβm pretty new to it also ^^ββ
ko-fi lets you use both PayPal and Stripe as options, which gives your customers/supporters plenty of choices to how they actually want to pay, but you are still at the mercy of Paypal or Stripe fees.
It's just the single platform for the patreon/store/commissions that is the convenience there.
ko-fi is not a payment processor, and relies on PayPal and/or Stripe to process transactions. i think you can choose which you want linked to your ko-fi account if you don't want both.
PayPal fees have gotten the worst in the industry of late. If youβre in the US move to Square or somewhere else. Us international folks have basically only PayPal at this point ) I tried Stripe but they wouldnβt let me work in USD
i tried to work on stripe (linked stripe with my ko-fi) and when i got some money in usd (im on europe) they said i needed a minimum of 250$ to put it on my bank ππππ
If you donβt have a US bank taking USD from Stripe is HELL!! I spent so many goddamn hours on the line with their help only to have every payout fail. This is why sadly that PayPal is best for non US folk unless you can get your customer comfortable with WISE
I think it's basically been as ass as it has always been, at least my general "vanishing money" from transfers seem about the same, but EUR vs USD ratio is currently completely messed up, so for me that's why I'm losing more money last month or so
