That’s just the beauty of modern fandoms, really! Irl friends and family members usually need a little nudge, but watch parties and other themed events are a great way for everyone in a group to feel involved and their interests appreciated. Hope that you’ll find a way to combine both at some point.
Tbh I’m fine with how it is, I know my irl friends and relatives rly aren’t the type to be passionate by some media to the point of sharing and creating for it. I won’t force them into somethg they’re not interested in 🥲
Fandom is internet only for me✌️
Internet-only hugs then! Plus, while I’m positive that an irl experience is always possible with a new fandom that interests everyone in some way, Discord and other apps offer a common ground between both types of social interaction for the fandoms one’s already involved in. Could be worth trying!
As long as you can take care of your interests and friendships without getting overwhelmed or otherwise endangering your mental health, I believe that it’s a sound strategy! After all, the point is for you to have as much fun as possible.
