Hiking off Webster Falls years ago, there was a dry riverbed of broken rocks leading up to an encircling gorge with what remained of the waterfall dripping down into a pool with a little frog in the middle. This beautiful landscape reminds me of it and makes my heart twinge. You did an amazing job.

Oh thank you! Here let me show you some process pictures. I start out with a b+w thumb and block color in to start. I get the composition as solid as I can in this step, using multiple landscape refs to help me figure out the mood I want to go for. /1

Then, for me, comes the painstaking process of finding all the refs I need for every part of the image and start painting in all that detail. Many photo refs, textures, etc. are used here as I move along.

Then it's just detail detail detail to completion. Painting it in, using textures where needed, refs all over, but keeping a close eye on the big picture at the same time by zooming out a lot and flipping the canvas horizontally to refresh the eye. That's about it! It's a LOT of work in few words.
