No electoral strategy should leave disabled Canadians people behind and I am a big advocate for UBI now. There is no economic argument against it we throw that kind of money at O&G, monthly. The provinces cannot be trusted and people need a leg up.

CERB was a good proof positive that UBI would work. Because even while CERB later CRB were available people would rather work if given the chance than not work.
Already said this in a group chat on the other platform with some very smart people: now is the time when UBI makes so much sense and has the chance to be that message that cuts through the 3-word slogans from the other guy.
Ugh. It would need to be presented with costing etc ready to go and a very clear comms strategy because we all know the people who lose sleep over debt/the deficit will lose their marbles along with the CDN media. The push back would be massive.
I am a huge supporter of ubi. Other countries (Finland) and others have this in place. The consensus is that good governance is beneficial to all citizens.
The UBI is a no brainer, all of the economic papers I’ve read support the fact that it boosts the economy, the standard of living and doesn’t accrue the deficit’s many conservative will claim. Shocking I know 😂
UBI has been studied to death. Proof that it does work has been ignored by politicians who are afraid to upend the myriad of existing programs that are not working in our best interests.
The LPC has the same problem as Democrats; they can win by fundamentally challenging the existing power structure of corporate democracy, but they would piss off a lot of powerful "friends" to do that.
UBI should be on every single person's radar. AI is progressing so quickly that it will eliminate so many middle-class jobs. Automation and AI are going to destroy the workforce. Disabled people are already forgotten.
I'm still here for the fight. In fact, this is the most mighty I've felt in a long time. Wasn't born disabled. Many sports injuries/work,27 concussions,CTE,many herniated discs, and riddled with osteoarthritis. 8 years off work. I had zero understanding of disabled life. I was raised entitled.
My father was my doctor growing up, Catholic school teaching mother. He always made sure I could play. Either with pills or injections. I was a brainwashed "Catholic" jock. I am now the opposite of that person! I am here for the fight.

I’m convinced we will need it at some point with AI, robotics etc elongating jobs. Do it now.
I don't think they have the balls to do it.
