ooo it's a really strong game. even though it's part of the "heaven & earth saga", it was confirmed to be a sort of prequel to actraiser, another quintet game. the combat mechanics are a bit jank but once you get the hang of the range, it's a great experience

from the trilogy, illusion of gaia is the weakest but with terranigma they were so back, it's a huge game. fun fact: terranigma has a big scene in germany, they even released a oneshot comic only available in german. if you wanna catch a terranigma stream, more often than not it's a german streamer

The whole trilogy are among my favorite games of all time. They just play so well, with such a uniquely melancholic vibe. I highly recommend the rest of Quintet's games if these games end up leaving you wanting more.

Played it earlier this year and really liked it too, sadly I bounced off the sequel (illusion of gaia). I really want to try the 3rd one though

If you loved Soul Blazer, i also recommend: Act Raiser, Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma. These games were made by Quintet Games, the same studio behind Soul Blazer.
atm their Magnus Opus is Terranigma, but the other games are incredible too!

Yes! The Quintet games are written with so much humanity in their characters, which has made them memorable even decades later. I liked Terranigma most out of the saga, but Soul Blazer is a charming experience all the same.
