They don't have candidates in place yet because the election was called quickly. A number of Saskatchewan ridings don't even have confirmed Conservative candidates yet. Parties have until the 7th to confirm their candidates, so I expect every prairie riding will have a full slate of candidates soon.

I totally get that but this election isn't a huge surprise. This is also more of a commentary on one of the overarching 'why' reasons that the NDP and Liberal party aren't projected to win as many seats as people who actually live in AB/SK/MB would anticipate based on how things feel on the ground

Manitoba 100% filled
14 ridings/14 LPC candidates
Sask 71% filled
14 ridings/10 LPC candidates
Alberta 72% filled
37 ridings/26 LPC candidates
17 other ridings need filling in BC (5), ON(4), QC(7) & Nunavut(1)
All vacancies will be filled by April 7th

It's unfortunate that the Liberal party won't help SK get rid of the Conservative majority in our province. It could be done by not running candidates in ridings where all the Liberal candidate does is drain enough progressive voters to ensure a Conservative win against the close NDP candidate.

NDP dont have a chance of winning given most SK ridings are safe CPC ridings plus why wouldnt SKers actually want seats in govt rather in a party that will lose offical party status.It's unfortunate NDPers wont help Liberals win a riding or 2 in SK where only the Liberals have a chance of winning.

Look behind the percentages at the actual numbers. Saskatoon West was an NDP riding. They lost due to people voting "strategically" for the Liberals last election. The majority of voters are progressive. Unfortunate Trudeau did not get rid of FPP elections like he promised!

Since '79, riding has been NDP 2x ('11 & '15), going back 10/14 yrs
Seems recent trends in NDP & its 'leader' losing popularity aren't relevant?
NDP have always been 3rd in Regina Wescana. LPC lost in '19 after winning 9 consequetive elections & vote splitting as & will actually elect CPC in '25

Voters voted strategically bc they know NDP dont have a chance of forming gov't and now NDP are going to lose official party status. In fact the CPC would never have agreed to getting rid of FPTP and NDPbas per usual sided with CPC.

I wish more Canadians understood this. I’m surrounded by progressive voters who have no candidate to vote for. The prairie provinces are being artificially divided from the rest of the country because so many are relying on stereotypes and outdated polling.
