IIRC the name originally attached to it was Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who directed the 2017 King Kong reboot.

The one on it now is Jim Mickle, who has apparently done a bunch of drama/thriller stuff I've never heard of for various streaming services, which seems like an... interesting choice for Gundam?

That’s the dude, knew it was Jordan something or other. He seemed a good fit, seemed to have pretty good ‘geek cred’ in terms of projects he’d worked on, or been attached to.

Jim Mickle… yeah, interesting choice. His filmography doesn’t suggest ‘mecha movie,’ that’s for sure. Well, we’ll see.
