I'm curious if you can explain this frustration to a non-houdini user. Which conventions are being broken? What exactly is blender missing here, and most importantly what makes houdini feel great to use in comparison?

the absence of a python node feels emblematic of this; blender wants you to use its lego blocks, whilst houdini wants you to write your own.
Whilst blender likes to keep it in its sandbox: a points just a point and even just getting its position is a chore. (1/2)
