I think it depends on various things. Basic gifs were exploited in multiple platforms that allowed viruses and hackers. Everything today isn't so basic.

It is because they are not controlling us. Twitter and Facebook control our feeds, control what we see and don't see. That takes a lot of programming. BlueSky takes no control over our feeds. WE own our feeds. If I follow you and you post, I will see it the way it used to be on Twitter, newest 1st.

I read somewhere that the guy who created Bluesky was the former Twitter CEO, but the focus here is more on communities and personal algorithms, which gives users more control. Reminds me of Twitter pre-Leon.
