Georgia is fighting for independence since 1991 against Russia and Georgian-Russian separatist. Putin armed the latter and orchestrate an insurgency; when the Georgian army responded, Putin falsely accused them of genocide and invaded Georgia in 2008. Same thing he did to Ukraine in 2008.
