I purposely review how I interact with any red state. Wheather vacation plans, airport layovers. Etc.
It's not easy. I feel I have reduced spending $ in those states to the minimum.
Better yet, just put back and boycott products and services that are offered by businesses that support and give money to Trump or any other republican.
As an American I approve this message.
Trump & those who voted for him have to pay the consequences.
Even if some of us have to suffer along the way. The price is too big
I get it,truly do,but those of us that never supported Trump will hurt. Trust me we R already hurting. Although 2 B fair can’t imagine being the closet ally to most powerful nation & have its moron prez threaten & take pot shots. I’m miles from the border, seriously if we were younger I’d relocate.
What’s the tipping point where enough of us will be ready for a national strike? No marching so they can’t use force just don’t go to work or shop and send a unified message to the media explaining the strike and list of initial changes like we want a new election within 180 days or something.
Sadly, unless people’s landlords are okay with rent not being paid and bills aren’t knocking on the door, I think that’s a tall ask. Although, would be MASSIVELY effective
Yeah. We need time to arrange the mutual aid. And some people would still likely need or choose to go to work but that would mean corps would be paying them while they are also losing business so … okay. Someone shared a call by the UAE for a general strike in 2028. Time to arrange mutual aid
I don't think this was aimed at Americans, but I do like how sweet some of you are for considering boycotting your own products lol. Shop local, stop funding the billionaires. Trump is a traitor to the US and its allies.
I canceled my amazon prime but I found out that MF owns whole foods where I shop. I thought they were just partners, nope. I will no longer shop at Whole Foods either. Fuck it.
Hey man, we didn’t start world war 3… we have an ass hat for president that has been paid for by Russia. Our own government failed us, your gonna hold it over our heads FOREVER? It’s a growing pain. I’m not protesting Europe for the crusades.
I am from Canada, I will happily buy American products again when Trump and his cult are no longer in control but dictatorships don't typically last a few years. Maybe I should not have said " never " but it may be for a very long time if America doesn't step up to remove this Russian asset.
You know not all of us voted for the ass hat. The election was stolen Musk had something to do with it it was hinted at and then he said something after the election. Dems are weak and did not fight hard enough but we as the people should not be punished. Punish the millionaires. Go after them.
As a Canadian I will NOT BUY american. So sick of the american BS and how they use their friends and their foreign policy of committing genocide. I have no problem if I have to pay more.
Sorry but no. If you’re in the US put your efforts into buying from local small businesses near you. If you have to buy online steer clear from major corporate retailers. Research where companies make donations. If the consumer spending tanks it hurts the economy & us. But we can hurt the corpos.
Some of them sure that’s where trying to do the homework you can before you spend your money is of value (I suppose this depends on how you quantify value tho) at the end of the day we can do small things to help, we gotta start somewhere.
I’m trying but it’s harder here in the US. Fortunately half of our stuff is made in China. 🇨🇳 still I 100% support you guys in cutting off the toxic influence that is my country now. Learn from our failures! ❤️❤️❤️
Point well taken. Agreed. Try to do business with local businesses that are not MAGA or exploitative with their employees. We need to be the guardians of decency for a while because the government is taking off the foreseeable future in that area. Fascists don't give a shit about decency.
Um, no? While I, as an American, don't agree with our pick for president and the more than 1/2 of the country that voted for this shitshow we are now in, I am not going to hurt local businesses and manufacturers for it. This is not the Anonymous I know of. Hurting the many to spite the few?
Half of the country did NOT vote for this shit-show. Less than 50% of those who bothered to vote did so for tRump and roughly 60% (150M out of 245M) of eligible voters voted at all. Saying 1/2 voted for Mango Mussolini is spreading disinformation…at best
This is why we have to be so careful with our statements, verbal or otherwise. The Orange Mini-Hands is claiming a mandate that he does not have and we feed that narrative when we erroneously say things like “half the country voted for him”. CNN, CBS, NYT, WaPo and FixNews already have that covered
I wasn't being literal. I meant that he apparently won the popular vote, so he won more than 1/2 of the voters (although I have significant doubts, especially in the swing states)
it's not spite, it's resistance tactics. Americans that have the financial flexibility should shop locally and avoid any products/ corporations that are capitulating and collaborating with the American Nazis party.
I think they were referring to the rest of the world boycotting America. Americans won't have much choice in what they buy once the tariffs hit and prices go through the roof.
But isn’t America the only place that matters? These dopey ‘buy local’ people don’t even get it. ITS THE REST OF THE WORLD
THAT WANTS TO BOYCOTT THE US YOU DOLTS!
Agreed, it's more of a set of...values? Fight for the righteous and little guy, down with doers evil, kinda thing. Maybe I'm wrong but still...not going to hurt mom & pop America just because our current WH occupant is a POS.
Nobody asked you to not buy American , simply stating that as Canadians if the same product is available here , made in Canada
to buy it here Locally or otherwise
Canada didn’t ask for or vote for the Shit show
The amount of Americans not understanding that this is a global account with a global audience is embarrassing. Jesus guys, not everyone typing in English is from the United States
People wandering bluesky know it's a global app, most left the other global app to get here. Sometimes, I wander off my normal path of familiar friends & links & don't realize where I end up, sometimes way off my path. Perhaps a user w/ 56 followers wandered here into an international area.
As an American, damn it’s hard to read these comments. I totally understand though, and I don’t blame you. I just ask please remember that a huge chunk of us don’t want this. In fact, I’m scared shitless for my future and doing what I have the power to do right now to fight back.
Ok. So what if they're muffins made by a mom and pop? Realistically ditching the corporate stuff is easy, but ditching handmade quality goods going to be much harder.
Glad I visited NYC last year, when Biden was still president. I already said back then: if Trump becomes president again this will be the last time I visit the US for some time.
They are protecting themselves
by trying to suffocate MAGA financially.
Unfortunately we are collateral damage,
but I get it.
I don't wish or hope for it,
but I get it.
I get it but please remember that half of us did not vote for him. Unlike a parliamentary system, we have no opportunity to remove him for four years. Maybe select your American boycotts more carefully, rather than boycott the entire country and its products.
I'm American and I agree with you. If 45 wants to be an isolationist, let's help him. Leave US products on the shelf, as well not using anything else like US fast food, or US gas.
I really hope Canada slaps outrageous tariffs on US products. Only way people will learn is when it hurts their products and people refuse to buy them.

Hoping a lot of snowbirds do the same
Hell, I can't even get myself to go see my favorite band (Pearl Jam) in my favorite city (NOLA) because of the rest of Louisiana.
It's not easy. I feel I have reduced spending $ in those states to the minimum.
Wondering if/when I'll ever come back.
Sorry America, elections have consequences 😔🇨🇦
Trump & those who voted for him have to pay the consequences.
Even if some of us have to suffer along the way. The price is too big
I'm in NO way an expert on that, that's an honest question. But if I'm right then that doesn't sound like it would work how you would want it to.
Usually it costs too much
👍🕊🌐🌍 😌

Then reporters let them get away with it. I don't think this was your intention. Pet peeve of mine.
THAT WANTS TO BOYCOTT THE US YOU DOLTS!
God, we are so dense it’s frightening
to buy it here Locally or otherwise
Canada didn’t ask for or vote for the Shit show
Canada will be targeting goods exported from Red states.
Cancel the trip to Florida but go to California instead.
unless you know for certain, assume it's being made by the LEGAL SLAVES.
14th amendment has a carve out for the SLAVE HOLDERS to take back their SLAVES by arresting people on TRUMPed up charges
Unfortunately many biz are global & some I can’t escape.
This includes 🦋
We are responsible for Trump. We allowed it.
Whatever subgroup we want to blame, doesn't change the fact we couldn't get it together enough to win
They should not suffer this bullshit in their countries because we were too fckn lazy to deal with our government
by trying to suffocate MAGA financially.
Unfortunately we are collateral damage,
but I get it.
I don't wish or hope for it,
but I get it.
Not putting money into a country that is threatening to invade half the world seems pretty reasonable to me.
I wouldn't want to pay for my enemies to invade me either.
As for other countries boycotting our products? Yeah, I understand it. America is in some dark times.
