Although the juice is bottled in these respective countries, most of the oranges processed actually come from China. So Americans get a double whammy on tariffs whether we buy the juice or the actual fruit.
Speaking as someone whose family owned the largest orange grove in California and operated the largest bottling plant in CA for over 100 years, (we sold to World Citrus in the 80's) the US does not have enough groves to fulfill the amount of OJ consumed in the US.
Sun-Brite foods is Canadian owned and operated with brands including Primo and Unico....please consider replacing Heinz and Frenchs (American Owned) with Primo Ketchup and tomato sauce and products

I'm wondering if Trump realizes exactly what he says when he talks about his trade deficit with Canada
Americans buy raw materials...huge amounts
Which they ***add value to & sell to the world
Let's not get it twisted
The us strips Canada of natural resources, even water
End use profit is higher
Absofuckenlutely
Lock down those rare earth minerals and metals.. I bet Europe would be interested in investing in Canada
Decrease American investment(China too and the Saudis while we're at it)
The only canned food that is worth eating is that which has minimal additives: tomatoes, beans, chickpeas etc.
Check the ingredients list.
You are correct about orange juice. Eat fruit, drink water.
The more bigger irony is a lot of the Target products under their store good and gather brand are actually made in Canada as well look at the back of the box
Do it!!!! I’m American and I’m enjoying all these other countries telling our government to fuck itself… also considering invading and adopting the east and west coast. Love a New Englander.
Would be nice if Canadian grocers made Canadian products available, but the American companies pay to have the best space where it will catch your eye first , those products you asked me to switch out for are not available in my Loblaws. Lingos or FarmBoy 🤷♀️
🎯 I wish Canadian grocers would have a section called US made, and we all just stay away from that section. It may be bigger, but hopefully, it will get smaller.
I'm US, and I agree with you. The only way Trump's supporters will wake up is when their pocketbook are affected. I'm not even sure that will be enough. But, it's our best chance.
I am Canadian Sicilian and we cook everything at home! Bean , vegetable chicken soups. I buy veggies in summer chop up and freeze. Chicken too all carcass or left over pieces i freeze! I find can soups have to much salt and sugar, unnecessary fats. You need a little bit of a good olive oil!
awwwww.... As an Italian I approve the message and I admire how the italian food sensitivity does not fade away. I doubt you'll manage to get the excellent Sicilian EVO there, olives, tarocco oranges.. Ah what a blessed land Sicily is.
OK, I need to know a good olive oil brand, please!
I am in E. Ontario.
We do the same thing here! I also grow things (leeks, herbs, tomatoes, flat beans, snow peas) and freeze.
(The snow peas were not very good after freezing; better fresh).
I think we should also prioritize some things that are made in canada but a us company. It sends the message we want them here and don't want them pulling back to the usa. Like post shredded wheat made in Ontario.
I will definitely look at what I am buying very closely, the whole.. Walmart not really impacting me didn't like going there anyway Target was never my store so not an issue my hardest is Amazon the temptations are so strong, but I know the stakes are too high to cave! Stay strong!
This weeks flyers in Toronto! Canadian retailers are reacting to a high US dollar by buying internationally. Trump’s tariffs will make this even worse for American farmers!
Oh my please come to Waterloo Ontario. We are in one of the greatest produce growing areas. Root vegetables all year! There are also hothouse and hydroponics. Can live without USA produce. When needed can count on Mexico and Peru.
We have a thriving hothouse industry. We have loads of agriculture in the growing season. That doesn't include pineapples or oranges....how much produce is being grown in Vermont in January?
We grow lots of stuff but we do have a colder climate and, up until today, we happily traded with the US. I guess we will be growing more and shopping from other countries now. We put too many eggs in the US basket anyway - time for a change.
I don’t want to see Canadian retailers taking advantage of new found buy Canada patriotism and price gouging us. Make note of it and mention it if seen.
I've asked my local Canadian grocery store to put tiny red dots on the shelf price stickers to show what are Canadian products so I can support as much Canadian products as possible. If it's not Canadian or from any country OTHER than the USA I don't buy it. I buy from European suppliers first.
Be careful, though.
I bought SunRype apple sauce last week without checking the label as I know it's a BC 🇨🇦 company. Sauce is a product of the USA.
Same with Armstrong cheese, I couldn't find the 100% 🇨🇦 milk logo on it. Has a label showing "care engagement" for good treatment of the cows.
I checked the Armstrong website and it only says their products "contain" Canadian milk. No mention of 100% Canadian milk. I'm going to assume percentage of US milk is used in their products until they clearly state otherwise. Plenty of other brands proudly show the 100% milk label
Lmfao buying Canadian in America will allow the Trump administration to directly profit off of the tariffs imposed and with his idea to create a privatized fund for the administration it would allow him personal profit. Lining the pockets of who you hate to make a statement is ignorant as fuck.
It was never stated who it was to and some Americans have a very backward sense of protesting like creating an echo chamber to shit talk the opposition. But to be clear idgaf what Canadians do especially if they’re condescending pricks.
Western Canada shop at SaveOnfoods. Canadian owned. They price match. Get the FLIPP app. Screenshot ad of what you want to buy. I do this every week. Get all your stuff at 1 store, at Wal-Mart,SuperStore, and No Frills prices.🇨🇦
I live here and “I put it back” if it costs too much! TuckFrump!!! One of the Orange A$$Clown’s appointed was my former Governor… Marco Rubio.. now Secretary of State (sunshine state… where Oranges grow.)
BTW
Satsumas can be grown inside because they are small.
Nice thanks, I'm trying to buy Canadian just trying to navigate what is made and owned by Canadian companies.......hopefully all will do their part to show our American friends what a mistake they have made in returning a criminal to run their country
We have to be careful because some American products are manufactured here (profits go south) and we don’t want more Canadian jobs lost as a result. Some stuff is actually imported and I’m trying to compile a list. Clorox, Arm&Hammer to name a few…
Spent almost 200 at canadian grocery store. Were some things kids wanted that weren't canadian made so weren't too happy with a no put it back . At least vachon is canadian so they got their snacks there. Produce was only non canadian items purchased and they were from mexico
Procurement practices need a deep reboot in Canada. The number of government and crown corps that do NOT have a Canada vendor preference clause is shocking.
At my local MO WM prices are already marked up. They were changing prices on many of these items yesterday mor. I assume that is because when the real tariffs hit their margins will remain high enough to keep paying their execs outrageous bonus and perks at the expense of employees and consumers.
This sounds like profiteering. They should only be charging the old price until the old stock is gone.
There was a person from ND saying this about gas prices too!
Ridiculous.
Canada should buy fruit and vegetables from Spain. Spain is the world's largest producer of olive oil, and the world's largest producer of wine, grapes, oranges, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, etc. With all the European health controls and much cheaper than the American ones.
another sinister part of the pro life republican agenda is keeping child marriage legal.

I recently tried both Sprague beans and Sprague soup. Both were tasty, competitively priced, and had lots of options to choose from. 15/10. Will buy again.
My SO went grocery shopping today. It took him a bit longer than usual, but he enjoyed the process of putting back "Made in the USA" items and bringing home others.
It's the least we can do. He says it will get faster now he's aware.
Cheap therapy too!
I’m so lucky to have my wife. She does all the cooking, and thoroughly researches any food that comes into the house, even that for the hamster, because I’ll handle it, too.
As a fellow #Celiac I understand how difficult it is to eat. Only recently has the extreme stress from daily eating slipped away and that’s because I only eat the food from my own kitchen. No premade products either. It was socially isolating at first but it’s become the new norm.
French’s is ours. 🙂 We had to start all this a couple of years ago, so she has it down to a science now. Our crock pots get a workout for dinners, and for lunch it’s usually fresh veggies/fruit. I never ate so healthily before Celiac.
I don't buy any food products from China, or any products that touch my food from China. Been buying as little as possible from China for at least a decade. Saved me lots of money in stuff I didn't really need.
In Virginia, never seen those CA brands around me unfortunately. Perhaps distinguish US brands between red and blue states’ products. Would definitely buy California orange juice over Florida. I need to research further.
We went yesterday shopping..had to check but it wasn't that hard to find Canadian products..gave up some favorites..oh well..were in this for our Grandsons..and were pissed!!!
The post is for Canadians, that’s why you won’t have seen them. Although I’ve never heard of Sprague, either. That would be great if our foods were more widely carried tho. McCain curly fries are great!
I've been buying Canadian for 50+ years.
Recommend.
Sure, it might be a little more expensive, sorry about that.

This goes before the first NAFTA?
Back then 85% of our exports went to the US.
Today it's about 70%.
The direction shows improvement, but it also shows the "tyranny of geography".
Agreed. Americans should support Canada by also boycotting whatever products Canada puts tariffs on. Punish this stupidity from both sides of the border.
I just went through my grocery list for tomorrow and found a few American brands that I found Canadian substitutes for. I plan to do that with all products from now on.
Comments
FL OJ is bottled in FL. The oranges come from China. And unless you picked the orange off the tree in CA, that produce is likely grown in Mexico.

Not American!
Habitant Soups were purchased by the Campbell's Soup Company.
I don’t when this takeover happened!
Does it taste the same as Canadian Habitant soup!
I make my own !
You know what's in it, then.
I am in E. Ontario.

Clark's beans are definitely #Canadian
They need to put the flag on their product for easier recognition
Oasis orange juice for example
We wouldn’t have central banks or insurance without Holland!

And they taste much better!

What I mean, of course, is that American products are unsafe. For everyone. Add an autoimmune disease, too, and these products are even more toxic.
I’m pretty much forced to make everything from scratch, except Heinz Ketchup.
